Question:
Muhtaram Dear Mufti Saab
1) Does a colonoscopy make ghusl incumbent?
Awaiting the answer of dear Mufti Saab
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
A colonoscopy is an exam used to look for changes — such as swollen, irritated tissues, polyps or cancer — in the large intestine (colon) and rectum. During a colonoscopy, a long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum. A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows the doctor to view the inside of the entire colon.
Undergoing a colonoscopy does not necessitate Ghusl. However, if any matter or liquid exits the anus, one’s Wudhu will be invalidated.
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
