Question:

alaikum.
i see for some Salaah, the Imam of Haram does not stand at the kaaba and lead,
he stands in elevated floors area (not on the mataaf) behind and leads. so if
we are on the mataaf, it means we will be in front of the Imam, will our salaah
be valid?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
As far as we know, all Fardh Salaah in the Haram is led from the Mataaf. You may be referring to Taraweeh Salaah, when the Imam stands outside the Mataaf, due to people making Tawaaf. However no one then prays on the Mataaf.
In principle, if a muqtadi (follower) stands infront of the Imam, his Salah will be invalid.
