Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the actual burial procedure – is there at any time a period where the mourning (paak-) ladies (remaining at the deceased’s home) are not allowed to read any Quraan; Dhikr, etc on behalf of the Marghoom? JazakALLAH and Regards
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The time when the deceased is most desperate of duas and the mercy of Allah Ta\u2019ala is when he is buried. That is the most trying time for him as the two angels, Munkar and Nakeer approach him and asks him three questions,<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Who is your lord?<\/span><\/p>\n

2) What is your religion?<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Who is your prophet?2<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

The eternal success of a person depends on him successfully answering these questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Family members and friends should implore Allah Ta\u2019ala to forgive him and make it easy for him to successfully answer these questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surah Ikhlaas may be recited 11 times, also Surah Yaseen and Surah Mulk. Dua and forgiveness should be made for the deceased.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sayyiduna Uthman (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alahi wa sallam), would stand by the grave after buring the deceased and say: \u201cSeek forgiveness for your brother and pray for his steadfastness, for he is now being questioned.\u201d (Sunan Abi Dawud, no: 3213)<\/span><\/p>\n
