Is reading aloud permitted or ta\u2019leem purposes?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Qiraa\u2019ah Jahriyyah, (reciting aloud) is permitted in the Nawafil (optional Salaahs) of the night. The Nawafil of the day should be recited quietly to one\u2019s self and not aloud.[1]<\/a> Thus, one should avoid reciting aloud in Nafl Salaah during the day. One may recite quietly or aloud in Nafl Salaah during the night without disturbing others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The same ruling would apply to the Sunnah Salaahs of the day and night.[2]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

It was narrated from Abu Qataadah (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out at night, and he saw Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) praying in a low voice, then he passed by \u2018Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) who was praying in a loud voice. When they met with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: \u201cI passed by you, O Abu Bakr, and you were praying in a low voice.\u201d He said: I made the One with Whom I was conversing hear me, O Messenger of Allah. And he said to \u2018Umar: \u201cI passed by you and you were praying in a loud voice.\u201d He said: O Messenger of Allah, I wake up the sleeper and drive away the shaytaan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: \u201cO Abu Bakr, raise your voice a little.\u201d And he said to \u2018Umar: \u201cLower your voice a little.\u201d( Sunan Abi Dawud 1329)<\/span><\/p>\n

There would be leeway for reciting aloud in Nafl during the day for the purpose of Ta\u2019leem (teaching).[3]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
