{"id":728,"date":"2016-06-16T03:10:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T03:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=728"},"modified":"2017-11-08T16:19:52","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T20:19:52","slug":"one-hundred-rulings-pertaining-to-fasting-and-ramadhan-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/one-hundred-rulings-pertaining-to-fasting-and-ramadhan-5\/","title":{"rendered":"One hundred rulings pertaining to Fasting and Ramadhan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Acts which do Not Invalidate the Fast<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Injections\/vaccination \/IV Drips\/insulin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying oil\/ henna\/ dye\/ to the hair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Using eye-drops or kohl\/surma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying perfume or inhaling it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Taking a shower for refreshment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Using Miswak.\u00a0 NB- Swallowing the remaining taste of the natural miswak will not break your fast, however it would be best to spit it out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swallowing of one&#8217;s own saliva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vomiting unintentionally regardless of the amount.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vomiting intentionally less than a mouth full.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unintended entrance of smoke\/dust into the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wet dream during the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Delaying the compulsory ghusl until after the break of dawn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying medicine\/oil\/drops in the ear (unless the eardrum is perforated) NB- Modern day medical research shows that there is no direct passage from the ear to the throat, unless there is a hole in the eardrum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Donating blood \/ taking a blood test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cutting nails\/hair\/shaving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cupping (Should be avoided if it leads to weakness).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kissing without the exchange of saliva (should be avoided for one who cannot control his desires).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Acid reflux, if acidity remains in the oesophagus, even though the bitterness could be tasted. If however, the substance enters the mouth it must be expelled. The fast will be broken if swallowed deliberately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Waking up after the break of dawn, hence not being able to partake of suhoor (predawn meal).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying Vicks to the nose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Casual usage of the normal Vicks inhaler. (Should be avoided if not necessary).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eating\/drinking \/sexual relations forgetting that one is fasting. One must stop as soon as he remembers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pain\/Nicotine\/Hormone patches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emission of seminal fluids without physical contact &#8211; (i.e. touching \/caressing etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rinsing the mouth\/nose provided that water does not enter the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emission of pre-seminal fluid (Mazi) and Wadiy &#8211; a thick sticky substance that comes out after urination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Firm intention to break one\u2019s fast during the day without actually eating or drinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bleeding gums even though it may slip down the throat, provided that the blood swallowed is less in proportion to the saliva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Breastfeeding \/Expressing milk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Blood discharged by a pregnant woman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vaginal discharge in other than menstrual period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swimming (with the condition that water does not enter the throat, should be avoided).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forgetting to make intention for fasting before the break of dawn.\u00a0 NB &#8211; One\u2019s fast is still intact if he makes intention any time before half of the day has passed, provided that he did not perform an act that will nullify his fast since the break of dawn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flavoured Miswaks provided that the flavour\/substance is not swallowed..(should be avoided)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Usage of Tampon\/ Contraceptive coils.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">36.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tablets\/Pills placed under the tongue to treat angina or other medical cases, with the condition that it does not enter the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Becoming unconscious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dialysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">39.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dental fillings\/ tooth extractions\/ cleaning, as long as one does not swallow any particles.(Should avoided)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">40.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cervical smear test \/Pap smear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">41.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Internal Ultrasound Examination NB Medical research proves that there is no direct connection between the uterus and the intestine. (\u0636\u0627\u0628\u0637 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0641\u0637\u0631\u0627\u062a)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">42.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inhaling fumes from paint\/glue\/gasoline\/chemicals\/ substances which does not have a perceptible body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">43.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Infusion of medicine\/liquids into urethra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">44.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inserting dye into the bloodstream for medical purposes, e.g. Coronary angiography.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Acupuncture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">46.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 External usage of creams\/lotions\/ointments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">47.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 External usage of Limacol\/Alcolado\/ methylated spirit\/rubbing alcohol etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">48.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mosquito\/fly entering the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Acts which are Makrooh (disliked) but Do Not Invalidate the Fast<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">49.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tasting with the tongue only, without the substance being swallowed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">50.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Using toothpaste\/tooth power (with the condition that the substance is not swallowed).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">51.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rinsing using a mouthwash provided that nothing enters the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">52.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gargling, provided that water doesn\u2019t enter the throat NB in case if a compulsory bath rinsing will suffice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">53.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Chewing a piece of cloth\/thread\/plastic etc. which is tasteless, void of flavour\/inedible, as long as the item is not swallowed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">54.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wearing lip balm provided that it is not swallowed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">NB-The above mentioned are categorized \u201cDisliked\u201d as they can nullify one\u2019s fast if any substance slips down the throat, even if this occurs accidentally or unintentionally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">55.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nutritional injections\/ Supplements e.g. Vitamin B12<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Acts that nullify the fast and necessitate Qadha Only<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<em> Qadha is to keep a single fast in place of the one that was\u00a0\u00a0 nullified.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">56.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Smoking cigarettes \/E-Cigarettes\/Hookah etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">57.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Water slipping down the throat while performing Wudhu or Ghusl, even if not done deliberately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">58.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Insertion of suppositories\/enemas\/ liquids\/gels etc. into the anal passage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">59.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deliberately vomiting a mouthful or more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">60.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deliberately swallowing one\u2019s vomit, even a little, regardless if it came out unintentionally or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">61.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying medicine to one\u2019s mouth \/nose and then the substance enters the throat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">62.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Usage of mist\/steam \/ Ventolin inhaler\/ puffs, nebulizer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">63.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deliberately and purposely inhaling incense\/ loban smoke or any matter that has a perceptible body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">64.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ejaculation due to physical contact &#8211; (touching\/ kissing\/caressing and fondling).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">65.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Masturbation\u00a0\u00a0 NB-This however is a sinful act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">66.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eating\/drinking on the assumption that it is still night then realizing that dawn has already broken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">67.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eating mistakenly, assuming that the sun has already set, while in reality it did not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">68.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swallowing any foreign object even if it is smaller than a split pea (edible or not).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">69.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swallowing particles stuck between the teeth the size of a split pea or larger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">70.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inhaling snuff (tobacco powder) into the nostrils.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">71.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A woman commencing her menstrual cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Acts that necessitate Qadha and Kaffarah<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Kaffarah is a penalty of fasting sixty consecutive days.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">72.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eating\/drinking while one is fully aware that he is fasting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">73.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Intercourse (just mere penetration, even if emission of fluids didn\u2019t occur). Kaffarah will be Wajib upon both husband and wife.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> NB-One whose fast has been broken, except by menstruation, MUST refrain from the nullifiers of fast until sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Other Rulings Relating to Fasting<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">74.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A traveller (by definition of the Shariah), has the choice to keep the fast or not, even though the journey is not difficult, however it is better to fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">75.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A sick person, whose illness may worsen due to fasting or it may lead to death, is also excused from fasting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">76.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Students writing\/studying\/preparing for exams are NOT excused from fasting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">77.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A pregnant \/nursing woman who fears harm to herself or her baby is excused from fasting, however if there is no fear then she must fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">78.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A woman experiencing her menstrual cycle\/post natal bleeding is NOT allowed to fast until she attains purity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">79.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Those exempted from fasting should avoid eating\/drinking in the presence of those fasting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">80.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A menstruating woman who sees blood more than her usual habit should refrain from fasting, as this may be regarded as part of her menstrual cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">81.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a woman in her menses becomes pure anytime during the day, she must refrain from eating\/drinking etc. until sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">82.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a woman experiences the signs and symptoms of her menstrual cycle, but hasn\u2019t seen any blood, her fast will remain intact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">83.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Blood discharged after ten days of menstrual cycle will be considered abnormal bleeding, hence it will be compulsory for her to observe the fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">84.\u00a0\u00a0 It is permissible for a woman to use medicine in order to delay her menstrual cycle. However, she should accept the decree of Allah Ta\u2019ala by not taking any medication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">85.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A woman does not need to seek permission from her husband to fast in the month of Ramadhan, if the husband does not consent, she is still obliged to fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">86.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A traveller has the choice to keep the fast or not, even though the journey is not difficult and tiresome, however it is better to fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">87.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a person decides to undertake a journey, and is departing after the break of dawn, then he must fast that day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">88.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a person undertakes a journey in Ramadhan for leisure\/entertainment, then he still has the choice of keeping the fast or not.\u00a0\u00a0 NB- The month of Ramadhan is very precious and should be spent in a worthwhile manner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">89.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A traveller who is not fasting, returns to his hometown anytime during the day, he must refrain from the invalidators of fast until sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">90.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A traveller who is not fasting, intends during the day temporary residence (for at least 15 days), must refrain from the invalidators of fast until sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">91.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a person feels extreme hunger or thirst, and fears that he may die if he continues fasting, then he is allowed to break his fast and do Qadha for that day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">92.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An individual whose job is laborious and demands physical strength is NOT absolved from fasting, rather he should make special arrangements to facilitate the Holy Month of Ramadhan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">93.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Giving Iftaar to a fasting person does not absolve one from keeping the fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">94.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a person has a sickness that prevents him from fasting and he hopes to recover, then he is permitted to delay his fast, and make Qadha after recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">95.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a person is suffering from a chronic disease which prevents him from fasting, then he will have to give Fidya for each day\u2019s fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">96.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A person who gave Fidya (because of a chronic disease which prevented him from fasting), recovers and is able to fast, then such a person must do Qadha for all missed fasts, as Fidya will no longer suffice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">97.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An elderly person who has lost his strength and is getting weaker every day, will have to give Fidya for each day\u2019s fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">98.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A person who was unable to complete his previous Qadha fasts before Ramadhan commences, does not have to pay Fidya. However, Qadha for the previous missed fast will still be Wajib on him. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>NB<\/strong>: It is obligatory upon each and every individual to observe Qadha of all missed fast in his\/her lifetime from the time of Bulugh (maturity).
