For example, a child regularly misbehaves or is ill, people are resorting to Taweez, believing that someone has done something to the child. A further example is where couples don&#8217;t have children or to save oneself from nazar, they are told by family get Taweez. 1. I recognise that Taweez per se is permissible but is it correct to utilise for every perceived or genuine problem with the potential that people subconsciously develop the conviction that Taweez is the remedy for all issues? 2. What is the prophetic manner of dealing with the examples identified in paragraphs 2 &amp; 3?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As you acknowledged, it is permissible to wear a Tawaaz (Amulet). However, for the permissibility of a Taweez, the following conditions must be fulfilled<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is in one of the understood languages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is derived from <em>Quran<\/em> or A<em>haadith<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is not considered that the Taweez itself is effective, but that <em>Allah <\/em>Ta\u2019ala puts the effect in the Taweez.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Moreover we would advise one to recite the following Azkaar (supplications) which have been mentioned in the <em>Ahaadith<\/em> instead of utilising Taweez<em>.<\/em> These Azkaar and Ad\u2019iya are more effective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0627\u064e\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0651\u064e \u0623\u064e\u062c\u0650\u0631\u0652\u0646\u0650\u0649\u0652 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0631\u0652<strong>\u00a0 (1) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>O Allah! Protect me from the hellfire.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyidun\u0101 H\u0101rith Ibn Muslim \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 reports from his father that Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 once confided in him saying, \u201cOn completion of your Maghrib Sal\u0101h, recite (the above-mentioned du\u0101) seven times before speaking to anyone. If you read this (du\u0101) and pass away that very night, most definitely you will be emancipated from the hellfire.\u201d <em>(Sunan Abi D\u0101wud #5039)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One will receive the very same reward for reciting this dua on completion of the Fajr Sal\u0101h.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0631\u064e\u0636\u0650\u064a\u0652\u0646\u0627\u064e \u0628\u0650\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u064b\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0627\u0652\u0644\u0625\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0645\u0650 \u062f\u0650\u064a\u0652\u0646\u064b\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0645\u064f\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u062f\u064d \u0646\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0651\u064b\u0627 \u0648\u0651\u064e \u0631\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0644\u0627\u064b<strong>(2)<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion and <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Muhammad<\/em> \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 <em>as my Prophet.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyidun\u0101 Thawb\u0101n \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 states that Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 said, \u201cWhoever recites (the above-mentioned du\u0101) thrice in the morning and evening, Allah will undertake the responsibility to abundantly reward him in such a way that would please and satisfy him on the day of Qiyamah.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>(Sunan Abi D\u0101wud #5033; Mustadrak Hakim #1904; Mirqatul Mafatih v.5 p.311, Beirut)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0623\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0630\u064f \u0628\u0650\u0643\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627\u062a\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627\u062a\u0650 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0634\u064e\u0631\u0651\u0650 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u062e\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0642\u064e<strong> (3) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>I seek protection with the complete words of Allah from the evil of whatever He created.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyidah Khawlah Bint Hak\u012bm \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627 states, \u201cI heard Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 say, &#8216;Whoever alights at a certain destination and reads (the above-mentioned du\u0101), nothing will harm him until he travels from that place.&#8217;\u201d<em>(Sah\u012bh Muslim #2635)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0628\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0645\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u0649\u0652 \u0644\u0627\u064e \u064a\u064e\u0636\u064f\u0631\u0651\u064f \u0645\u064e\u0639\u064e \u0627\u0633\u0652\u0645\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0634\u064e\u0649\u0652\u0621\u064c \u0641\u0650\u0649 \u0627\u0652\u0644\u0623\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0636\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e \u0641\u0650\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627\u0621\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0651\u064e\u0645\u0650\u064a\u0652\u0639\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0650\u064a\u0652\u0645\u064f<strong>(4) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>In Allah\u2019s name through which nothing in the earth or heavens can harm. And He is the all-Hearing, all-Knowing.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyiduna Ab\u0101n Ibn Uthm\u0101n \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrates, \u201cI heard my father, (Uthm\u0101n ibn Aff\u0101n\u00a0 \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647), saying that Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 said, \u201cWhoever recites (the above-mentioned du\u0101) thrice in the morning and evening, will not be harmed by anything.\u201d However, Sayyidun\u0101 Ab\u0101n Ibn Uthm\u0101n \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 (the narrator of the Hadith) was once afflicted by a stroke. A certain man began staring at him in surprise. Sayyidun\u0101 Ab\u0101n \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 asked him, \u201cWhy are you looking at me in astonishment? Listen well! The Hadith is true, just as I narrated it to you. He is Ever Living, The maintainer of everything. Neither sleep overcomes Him nor drowsiness. All that is in the skies and all within the earth belong to him. Who is there that can intercede before Him without His permission? (None can do this). He knows what is before them (He knows what lies ahead for His creation) and what is behind them while they possess none of His knowledge except if He wills (except what He teaches them). His throne (His knowledge and His power) encompasses the heavens and the earth (and whatever is within them) and He never tires of caring for them. He is High (above His creation), the Supreme..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In a lengthy narration, while discussing his encounter with a strange man (discovered to be Shayt\u0101n), Sayyidun\u0101 Abu Hurairah \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 states that he was informed by Shayt\u0101n to recite Ayatul Kursi. [&#8220;\u2026When you go to sleep, recite Ayatul Kursi until you complete the Ayah. If you do so, you will be in the protection of Allah and no Shayt\u0101n will come close to you until the morning.&#8221; Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 responded to these words by saying, &#8220;Listen well! He (Shayt\u0101n) has spoken the truth despite being a great liar.&#8221;] <em>(Sah\u012bh Bukhari #2311)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>(6) <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u0633\u064f\u0628\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0628\u0650\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0652\u062f\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0639\u064e\u062f\u064e\u062f\u064e \u062e\u064e\u0644\u0652\u0642\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0631\u0650\u0636\u064e\u0627 \u0646\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0633\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0632\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0629\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0634\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0645\u0650\u062f\u064e\u0627\u062f\u064e \u0643\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627\u062a\u0650\u0647\u0650<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Purity and praises are for Allah according to the number of His creation, to the extent of His pleasure, equivalent to the weight of His throne and in proportion to the ink of His words (knowledge and wisdom).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyidah Juwairiyah \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627 reported that on one occasion, Nabi \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 went away from her in the early morning to perform the Fajr Sal\u0101h while she was in her prayer area. Nabi \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 returned, after it became considerably bright, to find her in the same condition as he had left her. He then enquired, &#8220;Have you remained in the same state as I had left you?&#8221; &#8220;Yes&#8221; was the reply. I acknowledge Your bounties upon me and I admit my sins. Forgive me, for no one forgives sins besides You.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sayyidun\u0101 Shadd\u0101d Ibn Aus \u0639\u0646\u0647 \u00a0\u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647narrates that Rasulullah \u00a0\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645said, \u201cSayyidul istighfar (i.e. the most splendid form of seeking forgiveness from Allah Ta\u2019ala) is to say\u2026(the above-mentioned Du\u0101). Whoever recites it during the day with conviction and dies on that day, will be (recorded) from among the inhabitants of Jannah. The first being, to recite them with complete conviction (yaqeen) and confidence that whatever promises Allah and Nabi (Sallallahu Alahi Wa Sallam) have declared is undoubtedly true since the effect of ones supplications is in accordance to the level of one\u2019s conviction on them. The second is, to give up all sins. Hazrat Moulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sahib \u062f\u0627\u0645\u062a \u0628\u0631\u0643\u0627\u062a\u0647 has stated in this regard that, just as it is necessary for a person to abstain from poison while taking medicine, likewise the full benefit of (these) duas will only be realized if a person abstains from sin. If perchance one does commit sin, one should immediately resort to tawbah and istighfaar.
