{"id":479,"date":"2014-12-23T13:47:36","date_gmt":"2014-12-23T13:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=479"},"modified":"2017-11-09T04:00:55","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T08:00:55","slug":"the-harms-of-sins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/the-harms-of-sins\/","title":{"rendered":"The Harms of Sins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>BY HAZRAT MOULANA HAKEEM AKHTHAR SAHEB RAHMATULLAHI ALAYH<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Due to the evil of sins, one is deprived of the knowledge of Deen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One\u2019s sustenance decreases i.e. the Barakah of Rizq goes away. Despite one\u2019s sustenance appearing to be plentiful, very little benefit is derived from it. It will be spent away in sickness, anxieties, and wastage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner experiences a kind of terror from Allah Ta\u2019ala.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One gets a feeling of fear for people. In particular, one fears the company of the pious even more and will be deprived of the blessings of the company of the illustrious servants of Allah Ta\u2019ala.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner will experience difficulties in most of his affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner\u2019s heart becomes darkened. Due to the evil of sins, a person becomes involved in innovations, deviation and ignorance that will eventually destroy him.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Due to sins weakness of the heart occursi.e. the courage to do virtuous acts keeps on diminishing until it fades away completely. Since the body is dependent on the heart, it too becomes weak. It is for this very reason that though the kuffaar appear healthy and strong, they could not stand in front of the Sahaabah Radiallahu Anhum.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A person is deprived of the Taufeeq to do pious acts until gradually all good deeds are left out by the evil of sins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Life becomes shorter and the Barakah of life disappears.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One sin becomes the cause of another sin, thus sins become a habit and the giving up of sins becomes difficult.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing sins, the intention of repentance becomes weak to such an extent that a person is completely deprived of the Taufeeq of making Taubah and eventually dies in this condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">After some days of sinning, the evil of sins leaves one\u2019s heart, then shame and modesty is also lost. Thus sins are committed openly and one is distanced from the mercy and forgiveness of Allah Ta\u2019ala.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Every sin is the inheritance of some of the enemies of Allah Ta\u2019ala. It is as though this person becomes the inheritor of those cursed nation who originated that sin. In the Hadith it is mentioned that he who imitates a nation will be reckoned amongst them. Therefore do not delay in repenting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A sinner loses status and becomes worthless in the sight of Allah Ta\u2019ala. Thus the creation also has no respect for him. Even though the people might apparently honour him because of their greed (i.e. they want something from him) or out of fear for him, no one will have true respect for him. Allah Ta\u2019ala says \u201cHe who Allah Ta\u2019ala disgraces, there shall be none to honour him\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The misfortune of sins not only affects the sinner but other creations as well, even animals curse the sinner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Sins cause the mind to become weak and the intelligence to diminish. Commission of sins is proof of one\u2019s foolishness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing sins one comes under the curse of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing sins a person is deprived of the Duaas of the angels.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Disasters occur on the ground i.e. wind, water, grain, fruit etc diminish.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By sinning a person loses shame and modesty. When shame is lost a person does the worst of things.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The greatness of Allah Ta\u2019ala comes out of the heart. When the greatness of Allah Ta\u2019ala no longer remains in the heart then this person has no respect in the sight of Allah Ta\u2019ala. This person becomes disgraced in the eyes of the people and becomes discarded.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Blessings are snatched away. Misfortunes and difficulties are found. When a person is taken to task, he will be given the punishment of dunya and aakhirah together.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Titles of respect and honour are snatched away and titles of disgrace are referred to a sinner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Shaytaan overpowers a sinner and easily drowns his limbs in sin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Peace of mind is lost. One fears all the time that somebody should not see one, and that one should not lose their respect. Thus life becomes depressing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing a sin continually, that sin is embedded in the heart to such an extent that when a person is on his death bed, he is unable to recite the Kalimah.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By sinning, one loses hope in the mercy of Allah Ta\u2019ala. By sinning, one does not make Taubah and dies in this condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing a sin a black dot appears on the heart. By making Taubah it disappears otherwise it keeps on increasing, and this causes the ability to accept the truth to leave one.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One becomes attracted to the world and dislikes the hereafter which causes one to become heavily involved in worldly things. Hence matters concerning the hereafter are disregarded.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By sinning, Allah Ta\u2019ala \u2019s anger descends.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Through sinning conviction of the heart and firmness on Deen goes away.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By sinning, the benefits of obedience and worship are lost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By acts of shamelessness and immodesty, plague and strange new diseases spread. E.g.aids, cancer etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By not giving Zakaat rain decreases.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">When unjust judgements are made and promises are broken then enemies are given authority over us.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">\u00a0By weighing and measuring less, drought, poverty and oppression from rulers occurs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">\u00a0By being disloyal the heart will be filled with the fear of the enemies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Love for the world and fear for death creates cowardliness and awe is removed from the hearts of the enemies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: when Allah Ta\u2019ala decides to punish His servants then children begin to die in greater numbers and women become barren.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By sinning, Allah Ta\u2019ala places anger in the hearts of rulers. They then punish their subjects severely.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Because of sinning, even one\u2019s praisers start speaking evil of one.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A person who unjustly takes the land of another, even if it is a small portion, then on the day of judgment he will be sunk into the seven grounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The greatest harm of sin is that Allah Ta\u2019ala becomes displeased.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One is deprived of the knowledge of Deen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One harm in this dunya by committing sins is that one\u2019s sustenance decreases. Barakah is no longer found in one\u2019s provisions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner experiences a sort of solitude and spiritual separation from Allah Ta\u2019ala.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">As a result of excessive sinning, one finds it extremely difficult to associate with others, especially pious people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One will find a great deal of difficulty in fulfilling one\u2019s tasks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive sinning causes darkness to overpower one\u2019s heart.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Due to sins weakness is experienced. The weakness of the heart is that the ability to do good deeds diminishes. Due to weakness of the heart, the body also becomes weak.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive sinning causes one to be deprived of divine guidance and help to carry out good deeds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive sin causes one\u2019s life to decline. There no longer remains any blessing in one\u2019s existence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing sins they become the means of committing other sins. Eventually a person develops a habit of committing sins.Once he reaches this stage it is difficult to reform one\u2019s self and refrain from sins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">As one commits sins, the intention to repent for these sins weakens until a person is completely deprived of the Taufeeq to repent.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By perpetual involvement in sins, one reaches such a stage where one no longer considers these evil acts as sins and would thus openly perpetrate actions contrary to the Shariah.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A sinner loses status and becomes worthless in the sight of Allah Ta\u2019ala. Thus creation also has no respect for him.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The misfortunes of sins do not only affect the sinner, but other beings as well, even animals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Sins cause the weakening of one\u2019s intelligence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One major harm of sins is that one comes under the curse of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, since Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam sent many curses upon many sins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A person is deprived of theDuaas of the angels on his behalf.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Various forms of natural harms and disasters occur on the ground. Wind, water, soil, and seeds are no longer conductive towards producing good crops.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive sinning results in the loss of shame and modesty. Once a person loses these, there is no barrier towards his sinning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By excessive perpetration of sins, the greatness of Allah Ta\u2019ala comes out of the heart of the person.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The ill fortunes of sins are such that the favours of Allah Ta\u2019ala are no longer upon a person. He falls into the depths of difficulties and torment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Instead of a sinner being referred to respectfully, he will be referred to in derogatory terms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Shaytaan easily influences an excessive sinner and causes him to become drowned in sins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Peace of mind is lost due to excessive sinning. The person is in a state of perpetual fear. His life will become depressing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Perpetual sinning causes one\u2019s heart to become drowned in sins to such an extent that when a person is on his death bed, he is unable to recite the Kalimah. Those sins which he was involved in will become apparent at the time<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive sinning causes one to lose hope in the mercy of Allah Ta\u2019ala. Thus one does not repent and he dies in this condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">By committing sin, a black dot appears on one\u2019s heart. By making Taubah the dot is removed otherwise dots continue to appear until one\u2019s heart is completely blackened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">When one sins, one becomes excessively attracted to the world and one\u2019s heart is full of fear. The attraction to the world causes one to become enveloped in worldly attachments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Sinning causes Allah Ta\u2019ala\u2019s anger to descend upon one.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Through sinning, one\u2019s conviction of faith decreases.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Through sinning, very often the benefit of virtuous acts is lost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">When a person will breach the trust, his heart will be filled with the fear of his enemies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Love for the world and fear of death creates cowardliness and our enemies become fearless against us.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One who praises a sinner will soon become involved in that sin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The most detrimental harm of sin is that Allah Ta\u2019ala becomes displeased. If there was no punishment or no harm from sins, then this alone is sufficient to cause one to abstain from committing sins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">Excessive commission of sins causes a person to be deprived of the acquisition of true Deeni knowledge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One difficulty that will afflict a person in this world is that there will be no Barakah in one\u2019s sustenance. Despite one\u2019s sustenance appearing to be plentiful, very little benefit will be derived from it. Most of it will be wasted on sickness and other problems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner will always feel a kind of separation from Allah Ta\u2019ala.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One will find it hard to associate with others and will always experience a kind of solitude. This applies more so to the company of pious people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">The sinner will experience difficulty in all his affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">One harm of sins is that various forms of natural disasters occur on the earth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #b38710;\">A person loses shame and modesty.
