This requires us to also completely disassociate ourselves from all practices related to Christianity and other religions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Allah Ta\u2019ala says,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0639\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0625\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0644\u0627\u0645\u064f<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Definitely, the only religion with Allah(acceptable to Allah) is Islam (to hand over oneself totally to Allah). )Al-Imran19).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In another verse Allah Ta\u2019ala states,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u0651\u064f\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0622\u0645\u064e\u0646\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u062a\u0651\u064e\u062e\u0650\u0630\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0648\u062f\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0635\u064e\u0627\u0631\u064e\u0649 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0644\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0621\u064e \u0628\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0636\u064f\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0644\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0621\u064f \u0628\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0636\u064d \u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0648\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0641\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as friends. They are but friends to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them.\u201d (Surah al-Ma\u2019idah, V: 51)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is clear from the above quotations that it is not permissible for us to maintain such contact with non-Muslims that we begin compromising in our religious beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In order to preserve our Imaan and value, we are even prohibited to imitate them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u062a\u064e\u0634\u064e\u0628\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064e \u0628\u0650\u0642\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u064d \u0641\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cWhosoever emulates a nation is amongst them\u201d <em>Sunan Abi Dawud 4\/44<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In view of the above, it is not permissible for a Muslim to attend the religious festivals and ceremonies of non-Muslims.<sup>1<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Moreover, Christmas in its very origin and its traditions is against the pure teachings and principles of Islam, such as;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Celebrating the birth of Jesus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The traditional colour of Christmas, red, symbolizes the blood of Jesus which was shed in his crucifixion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The heart-shaped leaves of ivy were said to symbolize the coming to earth of Jesus, while holly was seen as protection against pagans and witches, its thorns and red berries held to represent the Crown of Thorns worn by Jesus at the crucifixion and the blood he shed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Christmas tree is considered by some as Christianisation of pagan tradition and ritual surrounding the Winter Solstice, and an adaptation of pagan tree worship.<sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We acknowledge a revert will face various challenges in his Imaan especially from non-Muslim family members. On one side, Shari\u2019ah emphasizes on guarding our Imaan and on the other side Shari\u2019ah also emphasizes on maintaining family ties. Obviously, this would be without compromising ones Islamic values and beliefs. A revert should make it clear that he loves his family but loves his Imaan more. He should draw a line between belief and family. He should maintain ties with family and be kind and compassionate to them without joining them in Christmas and other celebrations that are non-Islamic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>And Allah Ta\u2019\u0101la Knows
