I have consulted a doctor and I am on medication for past 1.5 years. My question is regarding some serious oaths that I have taken to overcome my disease.Sir, I have taken many serious oaths with serious conditions. such as that I swear to Allah If i do this and this or if i answered to shaitan whispers I will become Nauzubillah a non-believer. But soon I realized my mistake and I broke these promises by saying,&#8221; O Allah i take back my words&#8221;. Now, Pleaae tell me what should I do? I have repented and made sincere Tauba to never say such things .<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We pray and hope that Allah removes this condition of OCD from you. While OCD is deemed a medical condition, is can also be from the evil Whisperings (Waswasa) of Shaytaan, especially when it is regarding religious matters. Therefore, in addition to the medication that you are taking, use Duas and supplications from the Quran and Hadith which have been prescribed to remove the evil Whisperings (Waswasah) of Shaytaan.&nbsp; An example of this is reciting the three Quls (The last three Chapters of the Quran) morning and evening, thereafter blowing it into the palms of the hands and passing it over the body (expect the genital area and under the feet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for your main question, making an oath with the condition that you will become a disbeliever if you do a certain action is very problematic as it may take a person out of the fold of Islam. So, you should not make such an oath in the future. Nevertheless, you did not come out of the fold of Islam because you immediately realized your mistake and broke the oath. However, you will be required to make atonement for breaking an oath and that\u2019s it<a href=\"#_edn1\" id=\"_ednref1\"><sup>[i]<\/sup><\/a>. In fact, RasulullahG said in a Hadith that if a person makes an oath and he sees something which is better than it, then he should go to that which is better and make an atonement for breaking the oath<a href=\"#_edn2\" id=\"_ednref2\"><sup>[ii]<\/sup><\/a>. The statement of Rasulullah \ufdfa&nbsp; is about something permissible and allowed, so it will be more applicable to something sinful and detrimental to a person\u2019s Imaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of the Hadith which was cited above, it is clear that oaths can be broken for a good reason. So, there is no need to worry about the rule of breaking an oath, especially since the nature of your oath was problematic from the inception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a person breaks an oath which was made with permissible conditions for permissible reasons, then that person will be sinful for breaking the oath and they will have to make atonement for breaking the oath.
