{"id":2908,"date":"2021-02-09T21:15:42","date_gmt":"2021-02-10T01:15:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=2908"},"modified":"2021-02-09T21:16:53","modified_gmt":"2021-02-10T01:16:53","slug":"is-stretching-the-adhan-allowed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/is-stretching-the-adhan-allowed\/","title":{"rendered":"Is stretching the Adhan allowed?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>salaam. i have heard that excessive stretching in Azan is not good.&nbsp; I have been searching it online and i have found conflicting answers.&nbsp; What is the Ruling of stretching that Azaan like those called in Makkah and Madinah?&nbsp; What would be the correct of reciting the Azan?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of Adhan is to announce it is time for Salaah and to call the people towards the Masjid. Therefore the further the sound of Athaan reaches it will be of more benefit and greater reward. The Messenger of Allah, <strong>\ufdfa<\/strong>, said, \u201cThe Mu\u2019adhdhin will be forgiven, as far as his voice reaches (with the Adhan), and everything fresh and dry that hears him will ask forgiveness for him [Abu Dawood].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calling the Adhan aloud is better attained by stretching the words of the Adhan. As an example if a person calls someone who is far away \u2018Ahmad\u2019 loudly without stretching, he may not even hear you, but if the same word is stretched, \u2018Ahmaaad\u2019 and said in a loud voice, the voice will travel further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is permissible to stretch the Adhan as done in Makkah, Madinah etc. However by stretching certain letters, the meanings will change and therefore it will be impermissible, e.g. \u2018Allahu Akbar\u2019 is changed to, \u2018Aallaahu Aakbar\u2019 which means, \u2018Is Allah the Greatest?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below are some guidelines and common mistakes highlighted for the Mu\u2019athin.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Words of&nbsp;
