{"id":2781,"date":"2020-07-08T11:08:52","date_gmt":"2020-07-08T15:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=2781"},"modified":"2020-07-08T11:10:52","modified_gmt":"2020-07-08T15:10:52","slug":"is-it-permitted-to-send-our-qurbaani-overseas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/is-it-permitted-to-send-our-qurbaani-overseas\/","title":{"rendered":"Is it permitted to send our Qurbaani overseas?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it permitted to send our Qurbaani overseas?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While sending one&#8217;s Qurbaani to be done overseas is permissible and may be easy and cheaper, one should bear the following points in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qurbaani is a great Ibadah and is the Sunnah of Ibraheem (Alayhis Salaam) in lieu of sacrificing his own son. It is a Shi\u2019aar (distinguishing characteristic) of Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is understood from Ahadith and the Sunnah of Nabi <strong>\ufdfa<\/strong> that it is most virtuous to perform one Qurbaani personally. If one cannot do so, one should be present when the animal is being slaughtered. Nabi <strong>\ufdfa<\/strong> asked Faatima (RadiAllahu anhaa) to be present when her Qurbaani was being slaughtered. By having ones Qurbaani performed elsewhere, one is deprived of all these virtues.
