While fasting, I try to use as little water as possible to wash myself after\nurination, but a few drops of water still goes inside the vagina and I do not\nknow how deep it does. If this breaks my fast, do all the fasts of the previous\nyears be repeated?<br>\n2. What is the correct method of istinja for females after urination if the\nurine gets smeared on the body more than the size of a dirham? Please reply<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Method of Cleaning after\nUrination<br>\nThere is a difference in the method between men and women when it comes to\nattaining cleanliness after urination. Males have to perform Istibr\u0101\u2019 which is\nthe process of ensuring that no urine is left in the private part after\nurination. Women do not have to perform this however, they must be confident\nthat they have relieved themselves fully.<br>\nOnce this has been done, it is recommended to use some tissue paper first (with\nthe left hand) to absorb any drops of urine which may be left and then wash the\nprivate area with water.<br>\nWhen washing, the utensil must be held in the right hand and the left hand used\nto clean the actual area.<br>\nIstinj\u0101 from Greater Impurity<br>\nA recommended procedure for doing Istinj\u0101 is as follows:<br>\nWipe 3 times with tissue paper, from front to back, this will stop the\nspreading of the uncleanliness to the front private part. If necessary use more\ntissue paper.<br>\nHold the utensil in the right hand and wash the left hand first if needed and\nthen use the inner part of the middle finger (of the left hand) to clean the\nsoiled area. If needed use the middle parts of the ring finger, little finger\nand index finger (all of the left hand) in that order.<br>\nOne should clean until confident that the impurity and smell has been removed.
