{"id":2605,"date":"2019-03-07T22:24:18","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T02:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=2605"},"modified":"2019-03-07T22:24:21","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T02:24:21","slug":"understanding-of-a-hadith-on-jihaad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/understanding-of-a-hadith-on-jihaad\/","title":{"rendered":"Understanding of a Hadith on Jihaad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salaams Hazrat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Can you provide the correct\nunderstanding of this narration?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Messenger of Allaah (peace\nand blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever dies without having gone out\nfor jihaad or having thought of doing so, dies on a branch of hypocrisy.&nbsp;<br>\n(Saheeh Muslim, 3533).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don\u2019t intend to do ever go to some of these Middle Eastern countries to engage in combat. Does that make me a hypocrite or what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jazak\u2019Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hadith in reference, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been narrated on the\nauthority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (<strong>\ufdfa<\/strong>) said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One who died but did not\nfight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for\nJihad died the death of a hypocrite. &#8216;Abdullah b. Mubarak said: We think the\nhadith pertained to the time of the Messenger of Allah (<strong>\ufdfa<\/strong>).( Sahih Muslim 1910)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is understood from the Hadith that defending\nIslam and striving for its upliftment is compulsory on every Muslim. There are\nmany ways this can be achieved, and every Muslim should call towards Islam with\nHikmah and reflecting of the beautiful Sunnah of the Prophet <strong>\ufdfa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The combat currently in the middle east,\naccording to our Ulamaa, doesn\u2019t fulfil the specifications of a Shari\u2019 Jihaad\nand rather has been condemned.
