{"id":2539,"date":"2018-10-08T21:43:17","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T01:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=2539"},"modified":"2018-10-08T21:43:17","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T01:43:17","slug":"any-interest-free-loans-locally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/any-interest-free-loans-locally\/","title":{"rendered":"Any interest free loans locally?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As salaam wa alaikum.<br \/>\nIs there a lending institution available in Trinidad for Muslims to acquire financing to start a business?<\/p>\n<p>Is it permissible to acquire financing from the Agricultural Development Bank in Trinidad and Tobago?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the outset, we commend you for your interest and sensitivity on adopting halal and abstaining from haram. We are currently unaware of any such suitable Shari&#8217;ah compliant alternatives in Trinidad, in place instead of taking loans with Riba (interest).<\/p>\n<p>Shariah strictly prohibits and condemns all forms of Riba (interest). But if you do not then listen to the declaration of war from Allah and His Messenger\u201d. (Muslim1598)<\/p>\n<p>As Muslims, even in the\u00a0absence of such Halal alternatives\u00a0it is imperative we strive to abstain from Haram.
