{"id":2517,"date":"2018-08-13T21:25:16","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T01:25:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/?p=2517"},"modified":"2018-08-13T21:25:16","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T01:25:16","slug":"is-using-a-tasbeeh-for-zikr-a-bidah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fatwa-tt.com\/index.php\/is-using-a-tasbeeh-for-zikr-a-bidah\/","title":{"rendered":"Is using a Tasbeeh for Zikr a Bid&#8217;ah?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Question:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Prophet\u00a0 \u0635\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0647\u064f \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0645\u064e used to count on fingers while doing dhikr, so is it bid\u2019ah to use a tasbeeh\u00a0 for dhikr?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both methods of counting Dhikr, on fingers or on a tasbeeh are proper, if a person can easily keep count using fingers then it will be better.<\/p>\n<p>However there is nothing wrong in using a tasbeeh. Using a tasbeeh, beads or stones to help one with counting Dhikr is supported by various Ahadith. On the authority of Sa\u2018d ibn Ab\u012b Waqq\u0101s (radiyAll\u0101hu \u2018anhu) he narrates that together with Rasulullah (\ufdfa) he came upon a woman with date stones or pebbles before her, with which she was reciting tasbeeh. (Tirmidhi). Rasulullah (\ufdfa) did not reprimanded her or disapprove of what she was doing. This Hadith shows that taking assistance from something like a tasbeeh to help one keep count of his Dhikr is permissible.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, people used stones and beads as an aid in making Dhikr.
