Wudhu removes minor internal impurities. Whereas Istinjah entails the removal of major physical impurities emitted from the private parts. Each of these methods of cleaning is independent. A person can be in a state of ritual internal impurity and at the same time his body or clothes may be contaminated with physical impurities. Similarly, a person may not have any physical impurities on his clothes or body but at the same time be in a state of ritual internal impurity.<\/p>\n Therefore,<\/strong> if a person, after urinating or defecating did not perform Istinjah [for whatever reason] thereafter, performed Wudhu, then his wudhu will be valid. However, it will incumbent upon him to remove all impurities from his body (i.e. perform Istinjah) before performing Salah.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
