Yes, it is permissible to perform Salah in a dark room without any Karahah (dislike) if it aids a person in his concentration and devotion. This is also established from the authentic traditions of the Prophet \ufdfa. Aisha (r.a) narrates the following;<\/p>\n

Aishah (r.a.) said: I missed the Prophet \ufdfa one night, so I started searching for him using my hand. My hand touched his feet and they were held upright, and he was prostrating and saying: ‘I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised yourself.’<\/em><\/p>\n If however, the darkness of the room affects one\u2019s concentration and devotion in that it instills fright or Wasawis then a light should be lit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
