Is it permissible for a child who is not Baligh to contribute his money to Masjid-Building projects, Sadaqah or any other forms of voluntary contributions?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the aims and objectives in the legislation of laws in Islam is for the protection of one\u2019s wealth. For this reason the Shariah has stipulated conditions for the validity of voluntary transfer of wealth. Voluntary transfers include donations, gifts, Sadaqah etc. The conditions stipulated by the Shariah for such transfers include; Ritual Maturity (Bulugh) and Sanity (\u2018Aql).<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, it will not be valid for a child who is not Baligh to give donations or any form of voluntary contributions from his wealth. This is irrespective of whether the child gives consent for the contributions. In an event the child gives a donation or any form voluntary contribution, the wealth will not leave his possession and hence will have to be returned to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also not permissible for the guardian of the child to give donations from the wealth of the child.[1]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
