Is it permissible for a person (say \u201cA\u201d) who is praying to prevent someone (say \u201cB\u201d) from crossing him (i.e. \u201cA\u201d) in the front by means of his hand?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1b. What is the ruling regarding crossing someone who is praying?<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In a Hadith related by Numan bin Bashir RA (Riyadhus Saliheen, Book of Prohibitions), the Prophet SAW has given the example of a person who is within the boundaries set by Allah and who transgresses this boundary like a group of people who are aboard a ship and by lots the decks have been allocated, so that few people are in the upper deck and some in the lower deck. This hadith says that if the people of the lower deck think that \u201cif we were to make a hole in the lower deck we would get the water here\u201d and they would not need to go to the upper deck for water. If the people of the upper deck then do not stop the people on the lower deck from executing the plan, then the ship will be drowned and both of them will die, but if they stop them from executing their act then ship will be saved and so will its occupants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Regarding the Hadith mentioned above<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Can you please interpret the hadith mentioned above?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Does this hadith also imply that if a person in using his intellect disobeys Allah SWT then he will only end up in misery and loss?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Respected brother in Islam,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1) To cross in front of a person who is engaged in Salaah is impermissible and it is a grave sin to do so.<strong><sup>1<\/sup><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Prophet (Sallalallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) states:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0631\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0635\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u064f \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064e: \u00ab\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0645\u064e\u0627\u0631\u0651\u064f \u0628\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u064e \u064a\u064e\u062f\u064e\u064a\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u064f\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0651\u0650\u064a \u0645\u064e\u0627\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650\u060c \u0644\u064e\u0643\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0642\u0650\u0641\u064e \u0623\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0639\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064b\u0627 \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0645\u064f\u0631\u0651\u064e \u0628\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u064e \u064a\u064e\u062f\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650\u00bb(\u0627\u0644\u0628\u062e\u0627\u0631\u064a 510)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cIf the person who passes in front of another person in prayer knew the magnitude of his sin, he would prefer to wait for 40(days, months or years) rather than to pass in front of him.)Bukhari, 510)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Fuqaha (Islamic jurists) have stated that one may stop a person from crossing him in Salah by gesturing (with his hand or head) or by reciting aloud. If the person crossing does not take heed, then he may be pushed lightly.<sup>2<\/sup> However, it must not be done violently, as that is against the etiquettes of Salaah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2) The meaning of the Hadith is clear.
