The cheapest form of insurance that is available to her is student insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under the student insurance, there are two types available:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Basic insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enhanced insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under the basic insurance, she will have to pay 50% of the medical expenses (50% will be paid by the insurance company) and under the enhanced insurance, she will have to pay only 20% of the medical expenses (80% will be covered by\u00a0the insurance company).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The difference for the monthly premium or the monthly installment between the basic and enhanced insurance is very nominal i.e. enhanced insurance will cost only USD 60 extra per month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">My questions are as following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1) In her situation, is it allowed for her to take insurance since it is something that is required by the legal requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2) Can she take the enhanced insurance (since the cost towards it is nominal and the benefits are much\u00a0greater) or she is only allowed to take the basic #000000;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is clear from your query that you understand that conventional insurance is prohibited and that one may be excused if it is required by law to take out insurance.<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The legal requirement will be fulfilled through taking out basic insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Accordingly, if not mandatory, it is not permissible to take out enhanced insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>And Allah Ta\u2019\u0101la Knows
