Is there any special virtue for passing away on Friday?

fatwa-tt April 30, 2016

Question:

It there any special virtue for passing away on the day of Friday?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Abdullah bin Amr narrated that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“No Muslim dies on the day of Friday, nor the night of Friday, except that Allah protects him from the trials of the grave.”( Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1074)[1]

When the different narrations of this Hadith are taken into consideration, it will be considered Authentic.

Death on the night or day of Friday is also a sign from amongst the signs of a good and righteous death.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
